About

I write things down so they stop rattling around

This is a journal about paper, slow days and the small systems that make a week feel less like a spreadsheet. It has been going for four years, first on index cards, then here.

I am not a productivity person. Nothing here will make you faster. The notes are about noticing: what a morning actually contained, which pen survived the winter, how a stack of junk mail becomes something you can write on.

New notes land most Fridays. Older ones stay exactly where they were, typos and all — going back to tidy them up has never once made them better.

What you'll find here

  • Journalling systems small enough to keep
  • Paper experiments, including the failed ones
  • Slow Sundays, recorded hour by hour
  • Recommendations for exactly four objects, none of them sponsored
