HELLO, I'MECHO
Night owl, playlist hoarder and maker of small glowing things.
I do my best thinking after dark
By day I have an ordinary job with ordinary hours. The interesting part starts when the house goes quiet: a pot of jasmine tea, a playlist with no lyrics, and whatever small thing I am trying to make that week.
This blog started as a notebook of those evenings. Now it is where I write them up: the playlists, the night photos, the little apps and the Sundays I switch everything off. Pull up a chair, the lights are low on purpose.
I live with a sleepy grey cat called Miso, who has opinions about keyboards.
Things I love
Quiet playlists
Ambient, lo-fi and film scores. Nothing with words after midnight.
Streetlights
Wet pavements and neon signs, shot on a phone and a tiny tripod.
Jasmine tea
One pot per post, give or take. Usually take.
Paper notebooks
Every idea starts on paper before it ever gets near a screen.
Little numbers
The story so far
- 2019
Became a night owl
A new job, a new city and a flat with one very big window.
- 2022
Adopted Miso
Grey, sleepy, and convinced the keyboard is a heated bed.
- 2024
Started this blog
The notebook of late evenings finally got a home online.
Asked often
Why write at night?
It is the only time the house is quiet enough to hear what I actually think.
Can I use your playlists?
Please do. Every playlist is linked at the end of its post.
What camera do you use?
Just my phone and a small tripod. The post about it is on the blog.
Why is everything glowing?
Because it is late, the lights are off and the screen is the brightest thing in the room.
