On the Romance of Pink Castles
Every dreamer, I think, keeps one impossible place tucked away — a pink castle on a hill that exists only when you close your eyes. Mine has too many turrets and a moat that reflects the wrong sky, and I love it dearly.
There is something honest about an impossible place. It asks nothing of you but your imagination, and it gives back a kind of soft, unbothered calm. We build them as children and, if we're lucky, never quite tear them down.
